Project Engineer

Farnsfield Office

Custard Technical Services are currently offering a fantastic recruitment opportunity for a Project Engineer placement within the Custard team, based in Nottingham. We are looking for an experienced project engineer, acting in a key position carrying out project installations to our clients.

The role will involve working with various applications and systems to analyse, diagnose and solve issues from the office to ensure a smooth installation is performed, whilst often travelling out to our clients to carry out installations. The ideal candidate will have a love for technology and the ability to pick up and learn new technologies quickly. This is a fantastic opportunity.

  • Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm
  • Salary: £18,000 to £24,000 / year depending on experience

The Candidate:

  • Analytical approach with good questioning and listening skills.
  • Confident phone manner and strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an understanding of call handling, prioritisation and escalations.

Required Experience:

  • Virtualisation technologies (HyperV and VMWare Clusters).
  • SAN and NAS deployments.
  • Operating Systems of all architectures and versions. Inc. Linux, OSX and Windows.
  • Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, GPO.
  • Microsoft Exchange of all versions.
  • Excellent TCP/IP knowledge including subnetting.
  • Firewall experience.
  • VPNs experience, primarily IPSEC.
  • AWS and Azure knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Switches including VLANs.
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 knowledge.

The Role:

  • Installing and configuring IT hardware & software systems and applications.
  • Ensuring constant and consistent communication.
  • Identify, co-ordinate and resolve problems as quickly as possible.
  • Document known issues and associated workarounds or resolutions.
  • Perform hands-on installations at both a software and hardware level.
  • Plan, evaluate and propose improvements to our own project systems and procedures to improve on and ensure we continue to provide a great service.
  • Occasional paid weekend work will be required.

IT Technician

Sheffield Office

Are you a proactive, confident and self-motivated individual, with a strong knowledge of all things technical? If so, then this may be the role you’ve been looking for!

We are looking to recruit a number of experienced IT Technicians to be part of our new branch of offices opening in the Meadowhall area. Your training will be based at our Head Office near Mansfield, so will involve some travel.

As experienced 1st, 2nd or 3rd line IT support technicians, you will be providing valuable technical support to our clients on a daily basis. This will involve working with various applications and systems to analyse, diagnose and solve issues from the office, with the opportunity to visit some of our clients to provide onsite support.

  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm)
  • Salary: £16,000 to £30,000 / year depending on experience

The Candidate:

  • You’ll be confident and self-motivated, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • You’ll have the ability to work well in a team and also solely
  • You’ll be able to take an analytical approach, with good questioning and listening skills
  • You’ll have an understanding of call handling, prioritisation and escalations
  • You’ll have strong knowledge and solid experience of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, ranging from Windows Server 2003-2012 R2 and Windows XP to Windows 10
  • You’ll have experience administering and troubleshooting Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
  • You’ll have an understanding of core network protocols (TCP/UDP)
  • You’ll need an understanding of DHCP/DNS protocols and experience with associated applications
  • You’ll have experience with network hardware such as Routers, Firewalls, Switches and Wireless Access Points
  • You’ll have an understanding of firewall and VPN operations

Sales Executive

We are looking to recruit an experienced Sales Executive to be part of our new branch of offices opening in Sheffield. Your initial training will be carried out at our head office near Mansfield, travel will be required for this.

As a Sales Executive at Custard, you need to be hungry, motivated and eager to work on creating a sales pipeline based on incoming leads, existing accounts as well as potential canvassing.
