IT Technician

Custard is currently offering a fantastic recruitment opportunity for a number of technicians. We are looking for experienced 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT support technicians, acting in key positions providing technical support to our clients. This will involve working with various applications and systems to analyse, diagnose and solve issues from the office, whilst also possibly travelling out to some of our clients to provide support onsite.

Salary from £16,000 - £30,000 depending on experience, the position could also include a laptop, mobile phone, and company car depending on experience and role taken.

  • Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm (30 minute lunch break)
  • Salary: £16,000 to £30,000 a year

Experience in the below would be required;

  • Providing first-class support to our customers via telephone, e-mail, remote desktop or on-site, with an understanding of call handling, prioritisation and escalations
  • Strong knowledge and solid experience of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, ranging from Windows Server 2003-2012 R2 and Windows XP to Windows 10
  • Experience with administering and troubleshooting Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
  • An understanding of core network protocols (TCP/UDP)
  • An understanding of DHCP/DNS protocols and experience with associated applications
  • Experience with network hardware such as Routers / Firewalls / Switches / Wireless Access Points
  • An understanding of firewall and VPN operations
  • Hardware configuration and troubleshooting
  • Linux experience would be beneficial
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies would also be beneficial
  • Microsoft Azure experience and 365 would also be beneficial.
  • Ensuring constant and consistent communication for any open requests
  • Identify common questions to create help articles and frequently asked questions for end users
  • Perform hands-on fixes at both a software and hardware level

Buisness Development Manager

Custard Technical Services is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager, as a result of significant growth, to join a well-established team in our office based near Nottingham.

To be successful in this role, you will be motivated by a fast-paced, high energy environment, possessing excellent creative and analytical skills. This role has the capacity to offer much more as the company continues to grow and is an exciting opportunity to make your mark within Custard.

As a Business Development Manager at Custard Technical Services, you will drive sales targets through implementing innovative technology products and services throughout our growing client base.

You will be responsible for identifying areas of technical vulnerability within our client base through the use of audits and regular customer meetings, identifying solutions and influencing their strategy to adopt the best technology, communications and IT security products and services for their business.

You will work with management, as well as the wider technical/projects team to scope and implement strategic sales plans, in order to satisfy client requirements and increase sales revenue. You will need to be hungry for sales with a passion for converting opportunities to sales, upselling and cross-selling products to our customers, and well as developing quotations and proposals which fit both the clients’ objectives as well as Custard’s financial objectives. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to combat customer challenges/objections e.g. budget whilst delivering a top-notch customer experience.

  • Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm (30 minute lunch break)
  • Salary: £30-50k depending upon experience + uncapped commission

The Candidate:

  • Ideally 2+ years of previous IT sales experience (minimum)
  • Self-driven and hungry to achieve sales targets without micro-management
  • Longevity within roles and proven ability to hit targets consistently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build relationships at all levels, including Board and Management level
  • A passion for technology and the want to improve the lives of our client base through the implementation of IT within their business
  • Good internal and external communication skills

The Role:

  • Identify sales opportunities and generate new business in line with sales targets
  • Expand services/product uptake within the existing account base through cross-selling/upselling
  • Ability to fully articulate the company’s story and product portfolio in order to drive sales
  • Maintain accurate pipeline/sales forecasts for board level reporting
  • Develop quotations and proposals that meet customer needs and budgets whilst providing best practice advice and consultation
  • Conduct sales reviews, deliver excellent after-sale service and then repeat the above sales process to become an on-going trusted advisor for Custard

  • Strong knowledge and solid experience of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, ranging from Windows Server 2003-2019 and Windows XP to Windows 10
  • Excellent experience administering and troubleshooting Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL
  • Proficient with a variety of phone systems specifically SIP based systems.
  • Understanding of complex network protocols e.g TCP/UDP, SIP, VLAN, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, DHCP, DNS with great detail
  • Extensive experience with network hardware such as Routers, Firewalls, Switches and Wireless Access Points including associated NAT types and VPN knowledge

Custard Technical Services are currently offering a fantastic recruitment opportunity for a Project Engineer placement within the Custard team, based in Nottingham. We are looking for an experienced project engineer, acting in a key position carrying out project installations to our clients.

The role will involve working with various applications and systems to analyse, diagnose and solve issues from the office to ensure a smooth installation is performed, whilst often travelling out to our clients to carry out installations. The ideal candidate will have a love for technology and the ability to pick up and learn new technologies quickly. This is a fantastic opportunity.

  • Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm (30 minute lunch break)
  • Salary: £18,000 to £24,000 / year depending on experience

The Candidate:

  • Analytical approach with good questioning and listening skills.
  • Confident phone manner and strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an understanding of call handling, prioritisation and escalations.
  • Ability to work well in a team and solely; whilst under pressure.
  • Confident and self-motivated, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

Required Experience:

  • Virtualisation technologies (HyperV and VMWare Clusters).
  • SAN and NAS deployments.
  • Operating Systems of all architectures and versions. Inc. Linux, OSX and Windows.
  • Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, GPO.
  • Microsoft Exchange of all versions.
  • Excellent TCP/IP knowledge including subnetting.
  • Firewall experience.
  • VPNs experience, primarily IPSEC.
  • AWS and Azure knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Switches including VLANs.
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 knowledge.

The Role:

  • Installing and configuring IT hardware & software systems and applications.
  • Ensuring constant and consistent communication.
  • Identify, co-ordinate and resolve problems as quickly as possible.
  • Document known issues and associated workarounds or resolutions.
  • Perform hands-on installations at both a software and hardware level.
  • Plan, evaluate and propose improvements to our own project systems and procedures to improve on and ensure we continue to provide a great service.
  • Occasional paid weekend work will be required.
