Our Company Benefits

Stunning office location in Nottingham

Our offices at Hexgreave Hall, benefit from the unique setting of a 1,000-acre estate overlooking a beautiful deer park. An excellent location close to all major routes, our offices benefit from a local coffee shop only a two-minute walk away and a premiere gym and training facility next door. Our air-conditioned, contemporary offices are fully equipped with all the latest technology you could expect and more.

Eco-conscious workplace

Our workplace is one filled with employees who are aware of their social responsibility. There are no acts that are too small when it comes to caring for the environment. We are dedicated to renewable energy and green solutions to technological challenges, including our solar powered server bunker. Not only this, but our team benefit from electric vehicle charging points, with an electric fleet of eco-friendly vehicles.

Electric vehicle charging points

Zzzap! To help support the wider uptake of electric vehicles, employees and visitors can recharge their vehicle for free at our electric vehicle charging points at Head Office. Our offices benefit from free onsite parking for all vehicles, so no need to worry about finding that elusive parking space in the busy town centre.

Flexible working
(with 4-day working week potential)

At Custard, we are open-minded about what hours you work throughout the week so that you’re able to carry out your personal commitments, for example, the busy morning school-run, and so you don’t miss out on important events, like your little one’s sports day. Go team! Not only this, but we’re working towards a 4-day working week to increase employee satisfaction, company commitment and teamwork, and decrease stress levels. The most important thing to us is a healthy work-life balance.

Remote working
(work anywhere, anytime)

In today’s world, a business and its employees need to be dynamic. Often, being dynamic can mean working while on the move or away from the office. We give our employees the option to work from home, in the office or any other viable location – this means that our employees have the flexibility to work anywhere, anytime and encourages productivity.

‘Custard Classroom scheme

We run a training and development scheme that gives our employees the opportunity to improve their skills and achieve the latest industry recognised qualifications. Not only this, but we run an apprenticeship scheme for those just starting out in IT and plan for these employees to grow within the company. Many of the Custard team who started in an apprentice role, have become permanent full-time staff within the business, and have progressed through the company to team leader and management level.

Promote from within policy

We have an internal first policy when it comes to promotion for new roles and every position is advertised in-house as well as externally. When an employee is eager to learn and develop their skills, and they want to move to another team or learn something new, we are always open to ideas.

Commitment to people development

We work extremely hard to create a company culture that sustains a motivated workforce and we encourage personal development to ensure our team thrive. You’ll be given opportunities to develop and learn new skills, attend team building events and will be awarded for your dedication. And just so you know we’re not having you on, we won the Commitment to People Development Award at the Nottinghamshire Business Awards in 2019, run by the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, so we must be doing something right!

£500 refer a friend scheme

Earn up to £500 through our refer a friend employment scheme. If our employees know someone that has the skills or experience to do the job, we listen. We are always expanding the Custard family to maintain the customer service that we pride ourselves on and trust our employees to recommend the right people.

Work anniversaries

Time to celebrate! A work anniversary is a great time to spread joy and celebrate the time and effort that an employee has dedicated to our business. We find that the expression of gratitude through a work anniversary helps promote optimism and drive positive business outcomes. We love to celebrate people and reward those who have been with us for an extended period of time, to recognise their commitment to Custard.

Employee of the year award

Our employee of the year award gives us an opportunity to recognise the excellent work and dedication of our employees. We know that awarding those who work hard helps to not only boost employee morale but also motivates the whole team to perform even better. Did you know? Our last employee of the year won an amazing trip to New York for two. Next year, it could be you!

Not only do we provide all employees with a world-class laptop and smartphone (with a massive data allowance) but we also offer a 10% discount on all apple products when you work for us. How do you like them apples?

Discounted gym membership

Maybe you haven't set foot in a gym since school, maybe you've just finished your latest triathlon, or perhaps, like most of us, you're somewhere in between. We promote a healthy and happy lifestyle at Custard and in order to do so, we offer our employees a discounted gym membership – to use as and when they feel like it.

Private health insurance plan

Our employee wellbeing is so important to us – from physical to mental health, we do everything that we can to make sure that our employees are supported. Our private health insurance plan includes 24/7 mental wellbeing support through the Thrive app, designed to help employees manage stress and be more mindful. Not only this, but our healthcare plan also includes an Employee Assistance Programme, offering our employees guidance on everyday life management from financial worries to housing concerns and more, plus the ability to immediately speak with a GP via the video smartphone app.

Dentist and optician cashback options

Our employee of the year award gives us an opportunity to recognise the excellent work and dedication of our employees. We know that awarding those who work hard helps to not only boost employee morale but also motivates the whole team to perform even better. Did you know? Our last employee of the year won an amazing trip to New York for two. Next year, it could be you!

Funded team building and social events

Celebrate a job well done with our funded team building and social events throughout the year. Recent activities include an escape room, VR experience, go karting, water sports, bowling and more… Even whilst locked down we’ve been able to stay in touch through a mix of online social events, such as virtual pub quizzes and gaming tournaments.

Annual team paid weekend

Our annual team weekend away to Tattershall Lakes Country Park is a great way for our employees to get to know each other better, with paid accommodation and entertainment for employees and their families too.

Christmas party

Time to let your hair down and spread some holiday cheer at our funded Christmas dinner and ball for employees and partners. After all, it’s the most wonderful time for a beer! Some examples of previous events include a comedy club, golf range experience, trips away with overnight stays, and themed Christmas balls including Cirque du Soleil, Casino Royale and Funfair themes (getting our Chief Operations and Sales Officer off the bumper cars was a struggle!)

Occasional ‘TGIF’ free lunches

We know that the work week can be tough, and sometimes it’s nice to treat our employees with an occasional ‘thank goodness it’s Friday’ free lunch – we let employees choose from a selection of takeaway options every so often to reward them for a great working week.

Fresh fruit and healthy snacks

No need to pop to the shops. Treat yourself to one (or more) of your five-a-day from our selection of free fresh fruit and healthy snacks.

Get your caffeine fix

Words cannot espresso how much our team love a delicious hot coffee. That’s why we’ve stocked up our kitchen with top-quality coffee machines and various coffee pods so they can get their caffeine fix daily.
