NottinghamshireLive Women in Business Awards 2019

Some of Nottinghamshire's most successful female entrepreneurs and business owners were named as finalists in this year's Women in Business Awards. Apprentices, public servants and digital ambassadors were also among those in the running across 11 categories in this year's awards, run by NottinghamshireLive.

We would like to congratulate Michaela on her fantastic achievement, being shortlisted as a finalist in the popular Female Executive of the Year category along with 2 other finalists.

The seventh annual NottinghamshireLive Women in Business Awards 2019, headline sponsored by Hillarys, celebrates the outstanding achievements of female entrepreneurs and professionals within the Nottinghamshire region. From individuals running a business from home to high-flying career professionals, the NottinghamshireLive Women in Business Awards highlights the achievements of a wide range of businesswomen from across Nottinghamshire. These awards fly the flag for women in business and create female role models to inspire future generations.

Throughout the nomination period, nominees were requested to complete an application form which further supported their nomination. Then after the closing date, three finalists were shortlisted within each category by an independent judging panel.

Nottinghamshire Live confirmed that over 750 high-quality nominations were received this year and judging took place on Thursday, November 7.

The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday 26th November at the fantastic Crowne Plaza in Nottingham. A selection of the Custard IT support team attended the awards to support Michaela as a finalist in the competitive category of Female Executive of the Year 2019. It was a wonderful evening including inspirational talks from several successful businesswomen from the Nottinghamshire region.

Following her nomination, we asked Michaela a couple of questions, and she had this to say:

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“I love the challenge of coming in every day and being able to make a positive change within the business. I pride myself on every success I bring to the business daily – be that small or large. I’m passionate about improving the business and really care about what I do, whether that be making sure a customer is happy or that my team feel truly motivated. I enjoy that I have the capability to make Custard better for everyone – our customers, our employees and the business overall. I have an opportunity every time I come into work to help someone – be that a customer or employee – to make a positive change in their business or their work life. I love that everyone at Custard shares the same vision and are dedicated to our company mission.”

What do you think is the key to your success?

“I believe the key to my success is dedication. I truly care about what I do and every day I want to make a positive change to the business. The first thing I think about when I wake up is what I’m going to achieve for the business that day. I care about the achievements I have made and the accomplishments I look to make in the future. I have a vision of business growth – to make Custard a better place for people to work and a better place for customers to work with. I am very people focused and want customers, employees and people who join the company to always have a positive experience.”

We are extremely proud of Michaela and believe that being shortlisted as a finalist in such a competitive category is a huge achievement. Well done Michaela!
